Our journey began on a sunny spring morning at Social Coffee in Wilmington. What was supposed to be a quick coffee turned into more than two hours of non-stop chatting and laughter. From that very first date, conversation flowed effortlessly and we quickly realized how much we had in common.As time went on, we bonded deeply over our shared values and a mutual love for finding beauty in nature and culture. We also discovered how well we balance one another—David brings the numbers, while Molly brings the words!We enjoyed whirlwind trips to Maine, California, Texas and Ohio, as well as weekend getaways exploring places nearby. Along the way, we introduced each other to our amazing families and friends, who welcomed both of us with open arms.Through all of these experiences, we realized we had found something rare and special. Built on a foundation of love, friendship, mutual respect and shared dreams, we knew we were ready for a lifetime together.The rest is future!

The Hotel Ballast has set aside 10 rooms for our wedding guests. Room rates are $189 for the historic downtown view and $234 for the river view. This hotel is about an eight block walk to the wedding venue, Please be aware that the annual RiverFest will be going on the same weekend in the downtown area. Therefore, if this hotel is of interest to you, wed suggest you make your booking sooner rather than later to ensure getting the discounted room rate. To book online for the reserved dates of Oct. 2-4, guests can go to www.hotelballast.com and enter those dates, select Special Rates and enter the Group Code of MOW. If you want to come a day or two early or stay longer, you may not be able to make the reservation online. In that case, just call the hotel directly Monday-Thursday between 9 a.m, and 2 p.m. at (910) 763-5900. Parking: There is a parking fee of $24/overnight (self-park) and $30/overnight (valet). Airport Shuttle: Guests flying to ILM may call (910) 763-5900 to have the Hotel Ballast van pick you up outside of baggage claim. The hours of operation for the shuttle are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Wilmington NC airport is called ILM and is the closest and most convenient place to fly into.  However, you could also fly into Raleigh (RDU) or Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR) and rent a car.
